Message there is some small DC current flow (electrolysis effect). The current flow occurs between the +12v coil, the gasoline/ethanol (that's penetrated the plastic coil insulator) and the grounded injector body and/or the grommet spacers up on the top of the plastic insulator body.

It's thought that this small amount of current only flows because of the conductive properties of ethanol + gas + water. It's aggravated by +12v always being supplied to the injectors and not turned off when car isn't running.
